Planning begins for 2011 successor to the National Leadership Conference Print E-mail

Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary's administration and faculty have begun planning for the 2011 successor to the long-standing National Leadership Conference. No conference will be held in February of 2010.

The National Leadership Conference, originally planned for a three-year track with a potential run of 10 years, exceeded expectations by running annually for 15 years. Conference attendance ranged between 400 and 700 annually and brought together pastors and teachers from across the nation to present point/counterpoint views and to challenge and encourage colleagues in ministry.

Themes for the National Leadership Conference included the following:
  1. Coping with the Issues of the Next Generation of Fundamentalism (1995)
  2. Getting to the Heart of Fundamentalism (1996)
  3. Ethical Issues (1997)
  4. Fundamentalism and the Great Commission (1998)
  5. Where is Theology Going: Doctrinal Issues Affecting Your Ministry (1999)
  6. Preaching and Worship (2000)
  7. Building on the Past: Are We Different? Are We Doing Ministry Better? (2001)
  8. Our Salvation: Issues in Soteriology (2002)
  9. Sanctification (2003)
  10. Eschatology (2004)
  11. Real World Ministry (2005)
  12. Ministering in a Changing World (2006)
  13. Changeless Truths for Challenging Times (2007)
  14. Trusted with Truth (2008)
  15. Ministering God’s Truth in a Broken World (2009)

The specific focus, structure, and format for a new conference are being discussed and will be announced to the community in 2010.
