Women In Seminary Koinonia provides support and fellowship Print E-mail

In 2008, the Women In Seminary Koinonia (WISK) was begun with the purpose of providing encouragement, support and fellowship for female seminary students.

The Greek word koinonia  means “fellowship.” Since September 2008 the WISK group has met once a month to share their lives, enjoy a game night, a soup and Christmas cookie party, and just to sit and talk until the late hours of the evening. WISK was also started to assist women who come to seminary without a support system such as family or close friends so that they could have someone to call if they need help in any way.

As more women consider seminary to prepare them for counseling, missionary assistance or ministry within their local churches, seminaries will need to provide support structures to assist them. WISK is helping to make the seminary experience more comfortable and life-changing through service to these students.
