2013-2014 Student Scholarships and Grants

There are four main scholarships available for the 2013-2014 school year.  Three more are awarded at commencement each year (listed below).

E. Robert Jordan Memorial Family Scholarship
(Endowed Scholarship)

Family-Picture-with-foodThe Dr. E. R. Jordan Memorial Family Scholarship is provided by an anonymous donor in memory of Pastor E. Robert Jordan. The intent of the scholarship is to assist seminary students who must balance the financial demands of raising a family while pursuing seminary education. The scholarship provides a maximum award of $250 per credit hour and may be applied to resident or online courses.   The scholarship is available to married students with at least one dependent child below twenty-two years of age.  Eligible students must meet the following criteria:

1.    The student must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Master of Divinity, Master of Arts (Theological Studies), Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, or in the Certificate of Graduation.
2.    The student must maintain satisfactory academic progress as per published seminary policy.
3.    The student must register for a minimum of two resident classes per year (Lansdale campus).

Once the minimum requirement of registering for two resident classes has been met, the scholarship may apply to all other classes (resident and online).The Family Scholarship award year extends from summer through the spring semester. An annual application will be used to determine preliminary scholarship qualification for the year with awards being disbursed per term to eligible students.  Students may apply here or may contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. (Institutional Scholarship)

The Student Spouse Scholarship is designed to encourage spouses of seminary students to take advantage of the educational opportunities available to them while the student is in seminary. The scholarship provides for the spouse of a student who is enrolled in four or more credit hours in residence per semester to take the same number of credit hours tuition-free (not to exceed six credits a semester or twelve credits per year).  The Student Spouse Scholarship is available to the spouse of students enrolled in the Master of Divinity, Master of Arts, and Certificate of Graduation programs.  Applications are available by contacting the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Employee Tuition Remission Scholarship

Potential eligibility for an Employee Tuition Remission Scholarship from Calvary Baptist Seminary is associated with designated full-time Calvary Baptist Ministry employment classifications.  Please contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Relocation Scholarship
(Institutional Scholarship)

 The Relocation Scholarship is designed to ease the transition of first-time students into resident life at Calvary by providing reimbursement up to $1,000 for qualified expenses associated with moving to the Lansdale area. In order to document eligibility for this need-based scholarship an application must be submitted verifying relocation to the Lansdale area and registration for at least 6 credit hours for the Fall 2013 semester, including receipts for transition expenses. The Relocation Scholarship is available to students enrolled in the Master of Divinity, Master of Arts, and Certificate of Graduation programs.  Applications are available here or in the Financial Aid Office.

Commencement Scholarship Information

The following endowed scholarships will be awarded at the May 2014 Commencement service. Herr Memorial Scholarship for International Missions

This scholarship is provided by a generous gift from the estate of Mr. Larry Herr and is awarded annually at commencement to a student or students preparing for international missions ministry.  This scholarship is available to MDiv students only.  The award amount varies and is based on earned interest.

Solimon Scholarship

This scholarship is presented by Dr. Shoukry Soliman to a returning student with a minimum GPA of 3.0. It is awarded annually at commencement and is available to MDiv students only.  The award amount varies and is based on interest earned.

Woelkers Family Scholarship

This scholarship is presented to a returning student committed to full-time service and demonstrating abilities in his/her field of service; it is awarded annually at commencement and is available to MDiv students only.  The award amount varies and is based on interest earned.
